RARE Ngang Ta Dang, Nua Ngern, Luang Phu Rit, Wat Cholprathan Ratchadamri. A cast silver figurine of an ancient Khmer Ngang with red ruby eyes, a bas-relief of a couple of wealth fetching lizards in love play at the base, in the back is with imprints of ancient Khmer Magic Charm Cabalistic Writings, and a suspension hoop in the back for hanging on belt loop keeper. Made by Luang Phu Rit of Wat Cholprathan Ratchadamri, Buri Ram Province in BE 2542 (CE 1999).

Pra Ngang and Pra Chai or Pra Chai Lang Chang or Pra Chai Klong Chang

Ngang in ancient Thailand means "hard metal alloy"

Pra Ngang means "Small Buddha Statue made of hard metal", and there are 2 types of Pra Ngang

1)In ancient Thailand, men would carried small / crude / easy design of Buddha statues with sharp point (Buddha's halo flame) on top of Buddha's head, and without piece of monk robe on the left shoulder of Buddha, and no detail of monk robe, to the battle fields for Victory over the enemies, Kong Kraphan (invulnerability to all weapon attack), and Klawklad (pushing you away from all danger)

This type of Pra Ngang (Small Buddha Statue made of hard metal) is called " Pra Chai or Pra Chai Lang Chang or Pra Chai Klong Chang"

2)Pra Ngang in form of a small metal figurine was first made in Cambodia in the Post (after) Angkor period. Cambodian artists combined Art of Siam + Laos + Vietnam to make one of their own style of Buddha Statue, the art historian called "Sri Santor Period". And Pra Ngang in Sri Santor art of Cambodia were with bent sharp point (Buddha's halo flame) on top of Buddha's head, and some were with bald heads with the zig-zag matrix design at the base, some were with big eyes, painted with red. This type of Buddha statue was considered as black magic used for Magic Charm.

The ancient Khmer Pra Ngang

Pra Ngang or i-Ngang Tadang or “Pra e-Ngaang” in Esan (North Eastern Thai) dialect is an amulet, a small figurine looks similar to Buddha, but NOT Buddha. Luang Phu Rit, the abbot of Wat Cholprathan Ratchadamri, Buri Ram Province, living between BE 2460 to BE 2548 (CE 1917 to CE 2005)

Rit was born on May 13, BE 2460 (CE 1917) at Tung Mon, Prasat, Surin Province. In BE 2482 (CE 1939), Rit became a novice at Wat Petburi, Surin Province, later in BE 2483 (CE 1940) Rit ordained as Buddhist monk at Wat Prasat Wanaram under the care of Luang Phor Pae, the abbot of Wat Prasat Wanaram. Luang Phu Rit stayed at Wat Prasat Wanaram for 3 years and later relocated to Wat Plab, after staying at Wat Plab and Wat Ban Granang for 4 years. In the year BE 2490 (CE 1947) Luang Phu Rit was on his pilgrimage to North Eastern Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. In BE 2535 (CE 1992) Luang Phu Rit was an abbot of Wat Cholprathan Ratchadamri. Luang Phu Rit was a master of ancient Khmer magic and Theravada Buddhism, the amulets and yantra banner (cloth with ancient Khmer cabalistic writings) are with high power of success in life and in career, wealth fetching, Metta Maha Niyom (it makes people around you love you, be nice to you, and willing to support you for anything), Kaa Kaai Dee (it helps tempt your customers to buy whatever you are selling, and it helps attract new customers and then keep them coming back.
