Made by Luang Phor Jamnian, the abbot of Wat Tam Sua, Krabi Province in BE 2545 (CE 2002).

Tagrut

Tagrut is an early amulet worn by Thai men as necklace and as cord belt dated back over 800 years ago. Tagrut is usually made from sheet of metal or animal skin or bamboo or palm leaf inscribed with cabalistic writings, and then rolled as a tube.

A 4 inches long Tagrut, a roll of metal sheet engraved with cabalistic writings inside, put in a string crochet case, and painted with oil-based metallic gold paint. The metal sheet was made from lid of Luang Phor Sut’s alms bowl (begging bowl), the alms bowl lid was made from brass.
